Default XR 10 Trans/ Gear Case Cover Up grades?

I know that Vanquish makes a lot of parts for the xr and I know there are a lot of tech articles on the xr, but I want to know what alternatives there are for the trans and gear case cover, axle upgrades, knuckles . I know the Vanquish has milled covers to add larger bearings; Who else makes a similar cover and line of tough upgrades.

Comments ? Suggestions?

Like I mentioned; I know VP makes this stuff , but I want to know of other manufactures or if some of you guys are milling your own stuff.

Thanks
Jason

I like Axial's HD motorplate. It is nice and thick, and has a fully pocketed bearing seat. Rc4wd's bearing upgrade comes with large bearings for both the motor plate and gear case. HR is HR... I don't think a case upgrade is a must. At the very least, run an upgraded motor plate with big bearings & bushings everywhere else in the case.

I personally run the Axial HD motor plate & traxxas bushings in stock cases. I do have the rc4wd bearing upgrade, but haven't seen the need to install them yet.

Thanks for the Information.. I like the VP stuff as well. Just thought there might be something "better" or maybe " one off " that someone was making that I could use.

There is nothing better, maybe something cheaper, but nothing better.

Search the forum for XR10 Hop ups and Vendors thread. It has all the info and clicky links you need for the hop ups you want.

Like I mentioned, If you are going to spend the money... just do it once with VP stuff.

I competed with stock stuff for several months. I modified my motor plate for 9mm bearings and the truck worked fine. When I eventually blew a 9mm bearing, I got the heavy duty stuff.

Pdog used the VP bushing kit to replace the bearings with the stock cases and plates. He never had any failures.
