| Bushing mod?
Does anyone know of a write up on how to do the tranny bearing/bushing mod? I'm getting my xr10 kit soon and an curious on where they go. The only thing I've found is that people recommend doing it. Thanks Sent from my uber smart, smart phone.... |

Do a search for "9mm bearing mod" in the XR section. Then buy some bushings (Traxxas p/n TRX3775) and use those in the top link mount and gear case. One package of the Traxxas bushings will do vote axles. You will need 5x9x2.5mm flanged bearings for the motor plate mod. (6 total for both axles) If you don't want to search, you basically ream the three bearing holes in each motor plate from 8mm to 9mm. A drill press and unibit would be best to keep the bearing hole straight and true. If you don't mind spending a little money, the rc4wd bearing upgrade is a great value. It provides big bearings on both the motor plate and gear case. You'd only need a bushings for the top link mount. |
