the funniest thing I found so far is - running in the street over curbs etc... last night. the front wheels are weighted and have so much grip on the concrete - when you turn it sounds like you have a flat tire.

Hey Frank. You read my mind. I was thinking of getting the hack. Ran it first time today on some gnarly rocks by the house. It did exceptionally well - except if I got in a bind the rear gears would click/pop. gotta look into that. All in all - for $430 - it is AWESOME machine. Thinking about a Wraith as well - but that kit is $300 compared to $130 - $140 for the XR10. When is all your stuff arriving? |

Nice job man! Can I ask where did you find that braided wire loom that you have over your motor wires? I've been looking for some to put on mine. Love that paint job also! |

Well - while I used to be able to paint (haven't in a long time) - I could never paint like that. It is actually more orange - but looks reddish in the pics. It is a VERY thick vinyl sticker set from a company called Freq-E skinz. It is regular $35 -someone had it for $17 on sale. The cable sheathing came from cableorganizers.com - cheap and you can buy it buy the foot. I think I spent $3.00. Be sure to get the non-fray one. I got 1/8" and 1/4". Just what I needed. It stretches out pretty good. I think it looks awesome cause you cant see thru it like others. here is the link. Non-Fray Expandable Braided Sleeving – Just Cut With Scissors For some reason - pricing is not coming up - but it is $0.55 per foot. I got 3 ft of each. Cheap, fast shipping as well. $430 - I tried to do it on a budget. Servo, ESC, CCBEC were all used and cheap. Already had radio, charger. Ended up not being able to use my existing lipos - so $22 more than expected on 2 - Turnigy nano-tech 3s 1300 mah 45c lipos. Big splurge was getting the Axial Hard anodized motor plate. While I thought I did an OK job on doing the 9mm mod. It just didnt seem right when I put it all together. Last edited by bbking9; 12-09-2011 at 03:27 PM. |

I just have a couple things left to order and then i'll get her ready! I am pretty excited about it. I was also considering the wraith as well. It looks like a lot of fun.

Great start so far, the motor plates should help with gear failure.

Also, the gears are the achilles heel of the XR10. I have only gone through two gears in the year I have had mine, but I don't use it as much as other and try to go softer. Do some research if you chew through gears and you'll find some good upgrades. | |

Did you say all done.......... never I say never. Looks good. Go for that 2nd esc though if you have not already , it will bring out the beast in this unit. Also if you haven't yet go run a few comps with it. They will make you better. |

Awesome cheap build!!! I noticed that you made the same mistake as me. The chassis is backwards. The long skinny hole in the chassis should be to the back. I ran mine for awhile that way and it didn't really seem to make much of a difference switching it around but I did switch it. Have fun absolutely love mine!!!
