Question Shocks/springs, stock vs other?

Ok, I've seen a lotta guys go with "Big bores" for shocks with some rod end mod and some diff spring.... but I also see a lotta people say your driving style and setup affect a lot.

Are the stock XR10 shock/springs good to use or should I be looking to put something else on from the get-go?

I'm going big on this rig... going bodiless right away (bjv4 or chaotic), all the vp upgrades, wheel are rovers, dh II rims, etc....... does any of that dictate stock vs other or.....?

Educate me please

Stock shocks work really well and have plenty of piston choices. Only reason to go big bore is for the rod end mod. Little more precise then rubber bushing.

I love my duratrax evader shocks. Stupid easy to bleed. Super simple design.

Stock shock is fine but change out the springs for something softer like Losi golds or Axial blacks.

The elastomer eyelet is fine, I was going to put in a ball end stand off but it's bigger than 6mm and smaller than 6.8mm (the balls I have on hand). After looking at it for some time I decided that the elastomer is just fine for the job.
