Default XR10 stock schocks

Hey guys,
Just finished assembling my XR,
but i think the suspension is too stiff,i used the machined shock pistons with the 30wt oil, will it improve if i change the piston to the plastic ones with the largest holes?

Thanks

The stock springs are too stiff, change those first to either Axial blacks or Losi golds.

The delrin piston (machined) works great with 30wt once you change the springs. Going to larger hole pistons will decrease the damping of the shock which will translate to more wheel bounce especially if you add weight to the wheel.

Losi golds work well, but what works for one may not for another. But when I was looking I looked at as many build threads similar to mine to, learn what worked with other builds.

Losa5144 for the losi golds. I just bought these for my xr and wow! They make a huge difference, my sidehilling got a lot better and the shocks were much softer which let me get some more articulation which i needed. They also don't want to flip your rig over when going up with just one wheel on something, like the stock springs do. One of the best 10$ I spent on my rig for sure!

I ran the Losi golds and they did well. I switched to Axial's 1.04 lb/in springs (black) on all four corners and have stuck with them since they came out. I like the latter better, but I run my crawler really slowly through stuff that puts a constant and rough bind on everything. Any heavier springs, even the 1.4 lb/in Losi golds, were not conducive to my grandpa style of crawling.

For what it's worth, make sure your shocks aren't too full. ScorpionKing mentioned that to me a while back. Didn't realize I had been running them a bit too full since the XR came out. Got Axial's aluminum shock caps and the bleed holes on the side of the caps helps bleed out any excess fluid if you screw the caps on slowly. Or at least that works for me.

Gonna go find my dentures.

Try the electronics section and not a thread about shocks and you might get some help. I've never run those esc's so I'm no help.

As said, the chassis is very much "asleep" with the stock springs.
