Default Got the bounce !!!

So my dilemma .....

Chaotic Special Lw, crawls great has awesome break over ,pretty good side hill.. But every time I go to bump it over the rear gets a huge bounce but not in a good way also the front seems to be constantly looking for traction ( maybe the surface I am running )

My set up -

XR10
Chaotic Special LW
Chaotic Ti links
Big bores - Doug's cups -mini T pinks - 35 wt oil
Vp DH wheels x4
Vp C's and knuckles
Vp knuckle weights + 1/4" add-ons
No rear weights ( swapped all axle hardware with aluminum)
Rover- whites with CI 2 stage foams ( closed cell inner soft outers )
Hr trans cases f/r
Rc4wd gears
Vp f/r axle top link mounts
Hitec 7950th
Chaotic Ti straight link
Vp rear lock outs
Novak Rock Star motors 45t
Punk dig
Castle bec
FXR esc
Any suggestions on top link placement on the VP f/r axle mounts ?

Thanks everyone

What foams are you running in those rovers?

Are they the soft outers with memory tuning rings? Or are they full memory outers?

Soft memory outers? Eddie doesn't use memory foam that Im aware of. Are you running soft outers front & rear? Which closed cell inners are you running? That SOUNDS like a foam tuning issue but you can also thicken up your shock oil a little to slow the rebound.

SOME hop is inevitable. Just happens but if its a gnarly hop...ya should be able to tune it out fairly easy.

I have heard of the closed cell inners giving lighter rigs a bit of hop.

Sorry... Your right soft outers are not memory foams . I have the double Duce CI foams narrow closed cell inners with the soft outers front and rear

This may sound strange but I'm going to try and make sense. Put a medium outer in the rear it will reduce the bouncing of the inner due to the increase in resistance of the outer. Since the DH wheels are heavy to begin with you should notice an increase in traction if you put medium outers front and back. This will also decrease the unnecessary tire roll while side hilling.

Just to put it in perspective you have 34.38oz (2.15lbs) of weight in your wheels and knuckle weights alone.

It's funny how different stuff works for different people. I would just try all these great suggestions and see what works for you.

One more thing. Are your wheels or tires vented?

Not sure smoothness will get you there in every situation , as we all know you do need a little bump up once and a while

I would make sure they are vented enough. It is hard to get the closed cell foams vented. I also noticed a big difference the more i vented.

A while ago I was having trouble with the closed cell's venting but since then I have vented the tires, plenty of air comes out and goes right back in at the same rate
