Getting some boss claws for my chaotic special lw, any tips on shaving the sidewalls ? An how does this affect the performance ? Any tips on foams to run in these ?

Thanks

Use a die grinder or 90* flapper disk on your dremmel.

It will soften up the sidewalls.

CI 5.25" Closed Cell foams....the outers will depend on the weight of your truck and personal preference.

A belt sander makes very quick work or it. A 4.5" angle grinder with a flap disc works well also. With the dremmel you will be there for a while but it works as well.

I use a 4.5" angle grinder with a 80 grit flapper disc and it makes it look really nice

I've found the belt sander to be too fast and uncontrollable. I like to cut the lugs as short as possible (which lessens the dremmel work), then use a dremmel which give me more precision...

I do the same then use an older blackfoot rear stub and vp hub with the tire and rim on it chucked in a drill press. Smooths it out nicely.

But make sure the drill is on low speed. Those babies will blow up.
