Default Jacobflyin's XR10 Hall Style

OK so I have been running hand cut Hall Styles for all most 2 years and all i can say is I Love it. This new chassis will be great to play with and test with.

So this is just a rebuild for the most part but its the new chassis like the ones you get from Dlux.
I will be trying some different stuff on the Lexan side plate and I will go over the rest of the parts I have on this build.

Parts List
Hall Style Chassis
XR10 Axles loaded with VP parts
Dlux Wheels carbon faces
2 Micro sidewinders
CC BEC
Brood 16T motors
SCX 10 shocks

So I will start with what the truck looked like, this is last years truck I have been running it hard for all most a year.

Here are some pics of what I am trying. I am using XXX main picture glue.

This is just plain computer paper so with a color printer you could do anything you wanted, I like plain and simple so white and black it was for now.

I then glued the paper on with the XXX main hobby glue.

I all so put a coat of glue on the back side to seal the paper and then cut out all the windows and holes.

then I put the chassis together so I could make side plates that will line up to the Hall Style water mark I put on the paper. Here is the chassis together with side plates.

After we run the BackYard tomorrow night I will be striping down the old truck and I will have more pics and info for people.

Thanks for looking I love the fact you can do so much with this chassis.

I like your graphics, was was going to make skins the same way, print and glue on.

What rod ends are you using to mount the lower links to your chassis, they look like really long revo ends, but i cant tell for sure.

BADASS on the graphics man. But.....where's the red, gold n green? Can't run a Hall Style without reppin the Rasta Fari can you? I thought that would be in the users agreement or something.

Lookin forward to this build. I watched these chassis' work at PCC & was moocho impressed. If I wasn't running for Chaotic...this would be my chassis of choice.

Have fun in the Backyard tonight. I'll betcha around 4:20pm in Geo's yard on a Tuesday...there isn't a Cheeto in sight? Eek-a-Mouse in the background. Crawlin with good peeps. Can't wait to get up north & hang with you cats.

Other than the pure performance, I agree, this has to be my favorite part of the chassis.

Even though there are getting to be a lot of these chassis out there, none of them really look the same and there are a million other things you could do to personalize too!

Can any of you guys touch on the materials compared to the usual suspects like CF & delrin? I'm talking comparisons like weight, strength etc.

Thanks,
J.D.

Poly Carb is lighter than Delrin. Delrin is lighter than CF.

Poly carb is hard, pretty rigid and brittle. Does not like bending/fatigue so much.

Delrin is soft, mildly rigid and can deal with bending/fatigue.

CF is super rigid and can deal with bending/fatigue really well.

Erik is right on point but, I have used both versions and I have had great luck with poly carb this build is on my 3rd chassis in 2 years only because I messed up one of my chassis, the poly carb does not like acetone and my hand cut chassis from last year is still running strong but I like to buy products from good people so I got another one, it has been great I drive every Tuesday at the BYB compound and if you have been there you know it is no joke on axles and chassis.

I have yet to break one of my chassis from a fall or hard hit and I have all ways ran the thin version.

I hope that helps I believe fully in the poly carb and if you do have any concerns get the 1/8 in version it should hold up and last forever.

I just got back from the BYB compound and will be removing my axles so I will have some updates tomorrow. Thanks everyone for looking at this thread.

What you need to consider is how much delrin is necessary to achieve the same rigidity as CF. CF may weigh more per volume, but a significantly smaller amount is needed, so the end result is a lighter part

That's what's cool about the polycarb. It's even lighter and can be run thinner than delrin. Therefore you get a chassis close to the weight of the super light weight carbon chassis at a fraction of the price. And it looks better.

That's a cool idea Jake. I was thinking that someone should send a side plate to the guy that makes all the skins. Full side skins with matching panels would be cool.

Thanks Stubs.

Sorry for no updates I had an old buddy come into town and we did more drinking and working on my pre runner then anything else.

I was able to get the truck together just in time for the BYBRCC Comp on Sunday, And it worked great I got 2nd place behind the 2011 Champ Burbo.

I was very happy with the chassis for no tuning other then turning the truck on and making sure all 4 wheels went the same way with the stick before the comp.

I will get some pic posted this week.

Thanks Guys and Big Thanks to John Hall for a great chassis and Erik D-Lux for getting them out to the public. You are 2 of the best guys to work with.

looks good, sweet idea with the clear.

I am deep into building one right now.

Are you running risers under the upper link mount on the axles?
Another question, I have been away from the game for a few months.

On the rear axle lower link/shock mount are you cutting the bottom mounting holes off and running the shock and rear lower link off that top spot?

Thanks for any help.
