Default Lead Lobber's Yard Sale XR

What's up everyone! After winning a $10 part for a truck that I don't have at a comp here in Korea, I felt it was enough reason to build one!

So an Axial battery plate has led me to piece together an XR. After reading numerous threads and seeing the builds by LIK, I started scrounging through the classifieds to put together what I wanted.

LIK had a Sniper Chassis and links for the XR for sale so I snagged those. The Sniper went on the Berg, and the links went onto the Rockshow that I previously had.

The axles were bought here on the forum from Klabeaume.

I skinned it with Krawler Konceptz help.

Now all I need is electronics and some shorter shocks. It sits like a monster truck right now as is!

More to come!

Jeff

Thanks Wingnut! I have a set coming for my Berg in a silverish metallic color as well. Check out the Krawler Konceptz skins thread in the "body/ paint vendor" section for the background story on the skins.

Hey guys, I have a question for the masses...

What diameter are the Big Bores turned down to when they are machined? I searched a couple different ways and didn't find an answer. I'm looking for a guy here on Osan that has a lathe that will work "in trade" for either a case or a bottle of his choice.

Thanks!

That actually got handed down to my youngest son to learn on. I'll have to find out if he and his brother have been out on the rocks lately.

Change order number 1,

I decided to put the Rockshow SS in the pics back ontop of the Berg axles, and use the carbon Sniper on the XR. I'll have pics of that up tonight.

I did smashed my electronics and did some tire trimming recently. Shaved the side walls of a set each: rover whites, BC reds, and Sedonas. Took me a metric minute to figure out the best tecnique given the tools I have here in Korea. I'll post up pics of the tires soon, but you all know what shaved tires look like... no news there.

So...

I've not posted up on here in this build in a while. My bad. I'll be posting pics later tonight once I get home and downloaded. Much has happened lately...

Just a teaser. Ready to run I got her down to 4 lbs, 14 oz. Not annorexic like some, but healthy... LOL It will be smoking crack here soon and get down to fighting weight, mid to low 4lb target.

Thanks Brandon. I've been talking with Chris the battery man lately about why the factory smoke poured out of the Mamba Micros that I got from him. I figured it out last night. Boils down to me. I am an idiot... Get this.

I connected them to the Castle Link to program them (remember the wheel speed issue?). They only had 50% forward throttle, no big deal. So when I hooked up the second one, it wouldn't connect due to a cut red wire. See where this is going? I soldered on a new connector, did my business and fired them up. Whoo hoo! They work!, but I didn't remove the red wire after programing. Bam, factory smoke... DOH!!! Won't do that again...

Question Re: Lead Lobber's Yard Sale XR

Here is a question guys...

When timing my motor, how do I know where to start and which direction to go if there is no marking on the can?

I disassembled the motor, cleaned it and reassembled. Then realized I didn't mark where the original timing location was. Soooo... Where to now as far as getting it back to where it should be?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what brand they are specifically. They have and endbell stamp of Zzone, Japan on them. The cans have vent cut outs in the shape of a shark fin. I do know they are 35 turn.

So here are the pics as promised. I know all of you are just dying to see my junk... LOL

I don't know how to insert pics and text line by line... so here is my rig as I ran it during the comp, posing with some borrowed Dlux wheels from LIK, and a group picture.

I am downloading the other pics that were taken on sunday as well.
I have my Underoos on, so let me hear it!

Hasta. Jeff
