Default Front and rear axle slop help

So after a year of gathering parts I finally got thing together to build my xr and I've read builds where ppl have slop in the axles. I got everything together and started running it around in my house and noticed a lot of forward and backward slop in the the front and rear axle more so in the rear. I also have some side to side in the front and rear also. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to shim size and where to place the shims to eliminate all this slop?

These are the shims I used for the side to side slop. TowerHobbies.com | Traxxas Fiber Washers 5x8mm (20)

I placed them so they pushed the axle in towards the locker. The front to back slop doesn't bother me so I have no tips for you on that.

When your at it with shims look into the gearboxes, i did a rebuild of my axles and added 1,1mm in total per gearbox,
My rear shafts needed 0.3mm each
And my front needed 0,7mm to push the drive shafts in towards the locker.

Ordering some shims Friday thanks for all the info. I found some info but most of it just says that they put shims but no pics or in enough detail.

I wasn't happy with the forward and back slop either...

Curious as to why you think the slop is good? (not in a sarcastic way)

I can think of reasons why its not, but like to hear other perspectives
