I started with a smash but damn it got hot when I would run one batt after another. So "unsmashed" and left them wired together but spread apart to get some airflow and no more heat probs. If size and weight are no problem you can leave the ESCs cased...but most decase them. Obviously you want to minimize wiring if possible so most position the ESCs close to the battery and use an XT60 or Deans plug on that connection and power one ESC and solder jumper wires to power the second and then solder an external BEC to that as well so it all powers up through one plug. Motors are generally using bullet connectors but some people use Deans or XT60 on those too.

You want one ESC to power the RX and the other just to have the signal and ground wire to the RX no Red. You will want an external BEC like the Castle Creations BEC to power the servo...don't tax the ESC with that task. You simply pull out the yellow pin on the servo plug and slip another housing on it to plug into the RX and use pins to mate the BEC power to the Servo plug. Ballers like to use crimping tools and remake the leads to exact length and even sleeve them...but the main idea is to keep everything tidy do it doesn't hang up.

And that's about all there is to it. Calibration can be a bit of slog depending on if your radio likes your ESCs.

If you are going all comp with it most decase the RX and try to make the whole electronics package ride on the front axle with the battery or at least as far forward as feasible.

Have fun!
