| Any Xr10 axle with central servo mount ?
Again I'm searching for uncommon mods on Xr10 axles. Some months ago I asked for advices on how to put a bevel gears on Xr10 axles in order to have a central motor and I had some help here This time I'm looking for inspiration on servo relocation. I know the placement of the servo o one side is great for a lower c.o.g. but in my shafty project I would like to put it centered as in the scx10 axles. The reason of such a weird idea is that I'm forced to use a scx10 style chassis and in twist I have clearance issues between the servo and the chassis rail. Can you give a link to such mods, if anybody did it ? Thanks Filippo |

Some pic's of what you are trying to accomplish would help us out, otherwise go to a set of losi axles with the worm gears and do the xr10 mod to them would be just as effective as the xr10 axles.

Sorry no recent photos. Here you can see in the rear what was supposed to be a temporary differential case. The truck was 2wd at that time. Here you can try to see the front shaft. Finally a front photo: the clearance between the chassis and the servo is not much and it limits the twist. A centrally mounted servo would be better because it sits between the two rails, not below one of them. Bye Filippo |

First option would be to use a true sportsman chassis. That would get rid of the frame rails. If that's not an option then make a bracket to chassis mount the servo as that would be the only way to get it to the center without hopefully interfering with the front upper links. The easiest way I see is to cut the front frame rails off. That way it wouldn't interfere with suspension and you would have all the clearance you would need. |
