| JENS' X3M Firestarter
Well,-I've been working on a new rig a few months,-so now it's time for a build thread Decided to keep the now nearly extinct XR10 axles from last year, and throw some new parts at them The chassis I chose for this year is the very nice X3M Crawl Firestarter Upgraded with alu cross members and a selection of alu and titanium screws The axles got new housings and gears,-and I found some new vanquish upper link mounts at RCMart The Holmes Pullers got a com cut and new brushes,-and I bought some printed motor savers from Shapeways. Martin at X3M hooked me up with a nice wheelbase jig as well,-making set up a breeze Here with temporary steel threaded rod links: Titanium link making in progress : Front links done,-4mm lower and 3mm upper: As you can see I'm also keeping SCX10 shocks,-I like them,-bladder mod, three o-rings and Krazed pistons This is where I'm at today,-getting close to the new season : The electronics are next,-new Holmes BR minis,-new Castle BEC and "old" Sanwa RX . |

Well the first comp in the Norwegian series did not go to great,-where I finished in 8th place. I need a lot more practice with MOA rigs for sure,-I still mess up with the dig and mixing front to rear.... But yesterday we had our second comp,-and I finished in third place We did only run three courses because of the rain,-but hey, I am very happy with that result BTW,-I changed out the blue wheels for some CI 6 Bolts,-same tires though. And I made up a new panel for the roof,-as the first one got quite a beating from my bad driving in round one . |
