After I broke my lower control arms, and saw that most hobby shops were sold out (I can see why), I ordered aluminum ones. No joke, less than 10 minutes after installing those, and a few more upgrades along with a new servo, I was out on the asphalt dialing everything in. Couple low speed passes and I almost had the trim dialed in on the servo. Turned it around and headed back towards me a bit faster. Servo was still pulling a bit to the right, my right, so in a moment of dumbassary I start trimming left. Remember when I said it was coming at me? It went extra left and ran off the road and hit the mail box pole. :(

I was able to put the piece in the vice and straighten it mostly back out so that I can still run it. I probably won't, i'll just wait for the part to be delivered. I swear I've had more downtime in this damn thing than I have had running it.

How do you like the aluminum A arms fit wise? I keep looking at them but IDK. Afraid it'll be a $40 bent piece of aluminum in 10 minutes. The front arms flex sooooo much. RPM arms would be perfect but.....they don't exist!

And if they did they would flex just as much as the stock arms. They just wouldn't break as easy.

RPM responded to my email the next day:

"Dear ,
Presently, there aren't any plans for RPM parts for the Yeti XL, but that's mainly because we haven't heard that it's been having any issues. Are you breaking stock parts? What specifically are you having issues with? If you have photos of broken stock parts, or have links to message boards that show common issues, those would be hugely beneficial. Unfortunately, I can't make you any guarantees but it's definitely a great place to start.
Take care and thank you for your interest and support of RPM products. If you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to send us another e-mail."

You want them to flex, aluminum arms is not a very good idea for a truck that will actually be ran. There has to be give in just about everything in a rig this size, otherwise it would break all the time.

Aluminum arms are for shelf queens only. This is very well known on most any off road truck. Using them will just cause more damage to the next part down the line to be stressed. The flex of plastic is a good thing. Obviously dont hit the mailbox, but these are fun vehicles and we push them past their limits.

I've bent two front shafts so far. Nothing else has broken or snapped so it's just the super flex of the front arms...I'm assuming. I rum my RCs in a giant field with some good hills that I get some big air on. RPM arms would still flex but just not as bad as these. I've put RPM arms on a Revo, T maxx, LST XXL and a 1/16 Rally car. I really liked them on all the RCs I've used. I still have the Maxx.
I just noticed a ton of 1/5 guys use aluminum A arms up front. And this being a large 1/8 I was just thinking. IDK. It is only $40 maybe I'll be my own test mule. LoL..

Not always true. I had aluminum ones on my revo 3.3 and tmaxx 3.3. Never broke them in the 4 years i ran them. I used to jump my revo off my house. Every now and then i would have bent pins but replaceing a 2$ pin every year was worth the type of bashing i did.
