Default RC4WD Universal Hex For 40 Series Rims

Has anyone tried these before? Seems like its the way to go for people stripping the XL rims. Its basically rc4wd version of vp slw hubs.

I haven't but there is no way to mount it to the wheel unless you want to do some drilling making that area more prone to weakness. Then you have the issue of the shaft diameter being to small so more drilling to 8mm shaft size.

We can only hope that any MFG comes out with a true beadlock or wheels with steel inserts around the hex like 1/5 scale wheels.

Has anyone used the hub kit from hot racing?

I'm thinking about ordering it.. Those rings that reinforce the wheels hubs look amazing !!

EDIT: Ordered, will report when it arrives!!

Yes drilling is required but it should be stronger then stock, look up the drill press mod on the site for 1.9/2.2 rims, its the same thing and those hold up fine.

Hopefully VP will come out with some slw hubs for the 40 series.

True but a 2.2 up to 9lb rig on brushless is way different than a brushless 6S 14lb rig. The idea is awesome don;t get me wrong but i wouldn't waste my time if the wheel plastics weren't so different. A 1.9/2.2 Axial wheel is made up of far different formula as we have found out.

We can only hope VP makes hubs and true beadlock wheels. I would buy them in a nano second.
