Default Mamba Monster X ESC too big ?

Mounted up the motor fine, now on to the ESC and it covers the mounting holes for the receiver box. I tried the traxxas esc mount, part # 5626 and it is not big enough to fit around the X ESC. Any ideas?

I'm having the same configuration and it works just fine. Tight, but it works. You just have to cut down some inner plastic so the entire piece can come closer to the esc

I use double side tape and cable Ties.
It's a pain but it works.

I don't like the tape because it make a mess when it's heated

I am about to install the same Esc. Do you mind taking some photos and show how you managed to do it? Would be of great help.

Thanks a lot Tzicul. Effective method, and helpful to see these images. I hope the airflow isn't compromised too much.

Not at all! I actualy changed the original 30mm fan with a 40mm. I got tired to change it every other week, the bigger one seems to be more durable. Not to mention is half the price

These.... You either get bored or break something by the time the batteries need to be charged.

ZIPPY Compact 5000mAh 4S 25C Lipo Pack

To give you idea of the strength of 3M tape, I had the unfortunate opportunity to hit an apple tree in my yard today with a force large enough to rip the left lower control arm and to disconnect the connector between the ESC and batteries. Not sure how, but the ESC did not move at all....

Thanks guys, I decided to go with this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

A local group mentioned it and they say it's a perfect fit for the mmx. So far, extreme velcro is working great.
