Default Slingshot Paddle Tires or no?

Hello! I own the RTR YXL, with quite a few upgrades done or on the way already. However I still have the stock Krawler tires on it. I've liked them just fine so far. But I will be going to the beach more often soon and was wondering if it's worth purchasing paddle tires? How do the Krawler tires do in the sand? I thought about getting the Pro-line Slingshots for it but wasn't sure if it was worth the dough.

Or anybody got any better ideas? I'm a noob so I'm open to suggestions!

Yea that's pretty wicked. I only run 4s. I wonder if it is necessary to run paddles all the way around or if 2 in the rear would be sufficient.

I love the look and the performance of the paddles but they aren't a everyday tire... I'm sure they ar awesome for sand/mud skimming/water crossing and snow but what got me was the size and lack of ground clearance ....I will own a set one of these days but I settled for the mudslingers as a all around tire with the inspiration of a paddle ...

I love this set-up but it dose require modifications... I removed 5 + oz of rubber and tried to balance them with the fine tuneing with a dremel .. also I'd advise tice glue as well as the beadlock ... I tended to loose a bead after 5-6 6s runs...I did run the HR hubs with the 40 series for about 25 runs but did still end up stripping a hex... Possibly my fault for tightening after the loctie was already cured... So I resorted back to my RC4WD adapters and modified all of my wheels to use them... My width is almost 20 "

This picture is a comparison next a XL with a +5mm adapters.. So 10mm wider than stock.

At first I wanted to compare the cut Vs. stock because I intended on sniping the front ones .. but honestly their was no comparison so now both sets asr modified..

Thanks for the input BHB. Much appreciated. The wife loves the beach and wants to go for at least one weekend a month now.....so I figured I better look into some paddle tires for the YXL because the only playing in the sand I do is with an RC.

I agree they are a bit small on the yeti. But like you said they are only good for really few areas. I've also always liked the look of the mudslingers. Right now I am currently waiting on 17mm hub adapters, aluminum front bulkhead, aluminum front clip, and aluminum steering knuckles and carriers. Also got some stiffer springs in the way as well as some RPM control arms. Fun times ahead!

Paddles would be for sand only so clearance isn't a big issue.
