Default Taping tires

Hi

Just picked up a new kit today.
Been reading through all the suggested mods, just wondering how people are taping the yeti xl tires as they have a ribbed criss cross pattern on the inside.

Thanks

Black Gorilla Tape

I have and its a amazing difference !! It all comes down to how-well you prep! I tend to over do things but it seemed to be worth the extra effort ..

First I washed them with hot water and dish soap then I folded the tire inside out and temporarily mounted the tire back on the wheel. after that I warmed up the tire with a hair dryer or a work lamp dome .. The tape was also pre-heated before application. I followed the lines & contours then after it was smooth and stuck I immediately folded it back out and smoothed the tape back out into the sidewalls.. once its cooled and shrunk back down.... It works pretty damn Gooood !!

One of these days I want to try Kevlar meshing .. My buddy used some adhesive on his Torn In Half XMAXX tire and it works... I doubted it until 3 months of pounding and it's out lasted one other tire that exploded ..

Its been a year, but I haven't ran them for a wile but it never showed signs of failure...I'll have to slap them back on and check.. I only over lapped 1/4 turn to keep them pliable yet secure .. I think multiple wraps causes stiffness leading them to release.. but that's just my opinion ..

Have used tape on my truggy wheels on my yeti on 6s and on my XBE running 5b wheels on 8s and it stops them turning into pizza cutters

Couple of pics from todays run.
First time running the Yeti XL in off road terrain, had some great fun with it, my 4 year old son also enjoyed driving it as well (throttle turned down to 50%).

Mods so far are :

GPM ally steering link
Reinforced rear drive shaft
3 bearings for front and rear diff pinions (non hd diff gears)

Everything seems to be holding up on 4S, some small jumps (around 4' max on to soft terrain) and general trail bashing.

Cool looking truck mate.
4s is pretty tame, if your not too crazy on it shouldn't break anything.
Have you done the rear diff boot mod?

If I remember correctly I think either diff or shock oil comes with a cap just like that to seal the bottle
