Default Center Differential Yeti XL

Well as some of may remember a project that I started a little while back .

Project XL-T TWIN 2200 Dragster.

Till I round up enough cash for the 2nd ESC & 6S 5000 batteries, aluminum diff cups/GPM internals /GRP tires/ HD CVD conversion I'm gonna have to settle for one motor .

This is the Banshee XL

Thanks again Tphjill for the beautiful HR bulkhead/front & rear track bars !!

I made the center diff motor mount out of scrap aluminum with basic hand tools. Some of the parts in this build or generously donated by Tphjill !! I really appreciate and admire the generosity and that's why I'm excited for you guys to see what I have to give back to the community

I was able to re-use the existing transmission holes and add one in the battery trays for tying everything together.

I made this out of some scrap pieces of lexan as a debris deflector.

Got to have a Basher Bar to lock the front down !! Awesome mod !!! Perfect perch for shock tower supports

My ESC cooling fan mod

When you have so many builds going on that a $9 part doesn't make the budget you learn to improvise. This is a worn-out set of front output that were egged out. I simply cut them down the length and grind additional debt and use them as rear output.

For the front output I decided to use an MIP T-Maxx heavy duty output. Instead of using a pin I decided to make dimpled set screws.

I found these 20 millimeter Hub extenders and instead of using the set screw I decided to use a 25 millimeter screw that I ground down the head to help support the outer portion of the Hub

So the big question is shouldn't be a drag truck a pit basher or a trophy truck your guess is as good as mine cuz they all seem perfect.....

Thanks again for the Awesome parts bud !! Everything that I've seen from HR has been top notch so far ! This thing should handle like a dream !!

All I've got left is 4 purple springs so I decided to add prolineracing helper springs.. I ran this setup this summer and was pretty happy with it.

Awesome work as usual BHB. Look forward to seeing this with the Chevy body.

How about a $15 Thunder Tiger KRock CD? Looks like it may work with an adapter plate and some DS work.

We'll never know till we try it out I chose the XL spur because of its radius and it's surprisingly HARD !! . I figured sense I've got mainly 2200kv motors kicking around I've got to do my best to make the ratio semi- reasonable... Also I know what the c/d internals can handle and everything is interchangeable. You could also run a horizontal support from the back of the cage to the front of the Tower and connect top of the center diff to the support for Extra Strength... let me know if you need anything Mike. I can't wait to see what this thing's going to be like... Kraton Killer

The RC4WD beadlocks showed up and I can say they are quite impressive. They are robust with a tight-fitting hex and a huge offset. One coolest hidden secrets to me about these wheels is the back of the wheel is flat and has six circles that indicate the Lugnut location for the hubcap. I'm 99% positive that those circles will line up perfectly with the RC 4 wheel drive hub adapter for future modifications.

Explain to my wife that I couldn't remove the tires from the wheels because I used Bob Smith's industrial Super Glue which is sort of true. So naturally I have to order a set of Mickey Thompson scalar tires to complete the bomber XL build.

The Banshee XL in beast mode

I just can't decide..... Monster truck body or Dragster..

And so I've been looking at chopping and modifying the cage and possibly vacuum forming a body because that's something I've always wanted to try.

oooof. Damnit photobucket why did you have to change your policy on 3rd party hosting!

So much of BHB/Hemistorms info is lost! Even if I click on the photos and refresh as a photobucket member no go. :(
