| Stock ESC went puff. Need advice!
Posting this for a friend as I help him out with his YXL's maintenance and upgrades. After a bunch of issues everybody suffers with on theses trucks all was well until the Stock ESC decided to quit. No water, no hits, no smoke just stopped in the middle of a run. What's your advice on a reliable but budget friendly ESC that can take 6s? Will be using the stock motor. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |

Hobbywing has a quicrun esc for brushless that can take 6s for 80-100$. Brushed is a lot less. If you take a step up and go with one of their ESC's capable of "full sensored mode" there's no cogging, at least with the combo I have.

Does the castle link plug into and program this ESC? I can't seem to find any info on that. Or better yet, how are you programming this ESC? | |

Each maker pretty much has their own programming card. I'm actually using HW's wifi module that you can purchase separately. It means I can use my phone to reprogram on the fly without even taking the body off. It's maybe pricey for what it does, but to me its worth because of convenience and because I love gadgets.

Thanks guys, pricey stuff but I guess that's big power electronics. The hobbywing esc seems quite interesting. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |

I run a Tekin RX8 and its been great. But I would buy a Hobbywing, no problem. I bought a Max 6 for my X-Maxx and its ideal for it. Super impressed with the quality too.
