Default general design question...

I admittedly know next to nothing about this type of vehicle, full size or scaled.

What is the advantage/disadvantage in using a solid rear axle? Do the full size rigs follow this? Is it a durability issue? Handling?

Real world i believe it's strength and simplicity to have a solid Rear axle..
ifs for front to handle fast bumpy areas. Soild rear to get up the tough sections. .

I was wondering this myself.

As RC is generally an evolutionary process, it was fun to see us progress from slow and breakage-prone to fast, then to crawler-slow, now to silly-fast with crawler parts and IFS. FOFF seemed to have been the next thing, but the Yeti/Twin Hammers have buried it.

I have a LOT of Wheely King axles, and some old RS4MT parts...HPI, are you working on this?

Hmm, I'll be getting this in March, I was wondering the same thing. I take it that the front diff will be open or locked? If its open then I could use a heavy diff fluid to make it seemed locked. This will make a perfect basher, I couldn't see this crawling lol.

I'm betting it'll be an excellent crawler once set up...
