| Soft case batteries?
Guys - have any of you found using soft cases in the Yeti an issue? I'm currently using a hard case but i'm looking to buy another batter and want to know if i should steer clear of soft cases due to the knocks this thing takes. Also, any issues with using an adaptor for a battery that doesn't have a deans connector on it? TIA |

I have not had an issue in the yeti or even my slash I just beat the Hell out of with soft packs. Results may very but they have been good to me. I would not use an adapter though. If you can just buy the battery with the connector you need or if you can solder the end on.

I'm running a couple 5000 3s soft packs that had Traxxas ends and I'm using an adapter without any issue at all.....with the soft packs or the adapter.

I'm running 3s 5000mah zippy soft packs, and other than them being almost 3 years old i'm having no problems.

I've had them melt on applications with high current. Instead of 2 points of contact it's going through 4 points of contact and or a bad solder joint or bad luck could have been my cause of failure though. Just what I've seen.

I run soft packs in my Yeti. The only thing you really have to worry about is something laying in the tray that could damage the pack. Make sure the tray is free of rocks/debris before you jamb it in there, and use foam blocks to keep it from sliding around if it isn't a perfect fit.

I fly large rc helis and all we use is soft case lipos. They take a hit and survive several crashes, unless punctured, then they go poof!
