Default Wheels: aluminum beadlocks vs. plastic glue-on

I've always run glued tires on plastic wheels on my go fast stuff, and aluminum beadlocks on my crawlers. Just ordered a couple Yeti kits, and not sure where to go with this one. I've seen people run both.

Now, I'm leaning towards plastic wheels glued tires because I feel we will be doing more bashing than crawling. I will not be weighting the wheels at all.

I know the stock wheels are usually kind of crappy. Has anyone tried gluing the tires with them, rather than relying on a plastic beadlock to hold them?

Then the last question. If I run, for example a CI wheel/foam and Voodoo U4 tire combo, would you vent the wheels?

These will be right up your ally. Glue on aluminum wheels. I run the VP Methods...super nice too.

I'm running ^these^ wheels on mine and as long as you rough up the inner beads before gluing the tires on, they're great. Weigh in at only 16 grams (approx. 1/2 oz) heavier than the plastic RTR wheels, too.

I'm running the C.I. Six bolts, super cheap and light. Order them along with some deuces wild foams and you won't be disappointed, I promise
Hope to hang out with you guys again!

How would you remove the tire, (can you?) glued to the aluminum wheel?

I would recommend plastic glue on combo for racing/bashing, you don't need the extra weight of aluminum BL. I personally have both, I use the CI wheels for racing and I have a set of OMF's for Trail Runs & Crawling.
I have glued the stock tires & wheels on a couple Yeti's and they work just fine.
If you go with CI 6 bolts and his VooDoo/DW combo he vents the tires for you.

It can be done but you'll likely destroy the bead on the tire. I don't plan on changing tires until the currently installed RBIIs wear out.
