| motor/esc for my yeti
Hello, I just received my Yeti 380 kit and was wondering about what motor/ esc I will be using. I would like to run a Tekin 4,600kV Pro4 4-Pole with a Mamba Max Pro 1/10 Sensored/Sensorless ESC with SmartSense esc. Is this possible are do I have to use a Tekin RX8? Thanks |

Yes the rx8 will work but I would go with 3000kv unless you plan to use 2s The bigger the voltage the more efficient the system is so 3s is a better choice 4s will work too but is gonna be tough on add on 's like winches lights ect.. Last edited by dasco; 03-07-2015 at 10:11 PM. |

I run a mmp and tekin roc 412 3100kv motor in my yeti kit and its a torque monster. Stock spur gear with 17 tooth pinion, I believe the stock pinion is 16. Yesterday i tried my buddys tekin pro-4 4600 kv motor on 3s and it was just wicked fast. To fast for my liking, as this truck doesnt handle as good as a Slash 4x4 that his 4600 came from for example.

How about a cheaper Leopard motor that is sensored or for half the price of the PRO 4 HD, a Tenshock 411SC? Those are sensored, powerful, loved by everyone, come in a variety of winds including 5200kv, and are 1/2 the price of a pro4HD. Just sayin'.... |

| Re: motor/esc for my yeti I run mine on 2s alot also. Its more controllable but doesn't have that insane instant torque like the 3s. 2s would be plenty fine. It definitely depends what your doing with your yeti on what motor you should get. I like to do more trails, hill climbs, and light crawling with mine. Higher the KV the more top end it will have but hotter motor temps are likely if there not geared right.
