Unhappy Front universals binding - too long?

Got my son's kit in the other day and ordered STRC hubs for it. Installing the hubs with stock parts seems to be causing some issues.

Has 94mm universals. When I compress the suspension slightly past arms level, the dogbone end bottoms out inside the front diff cups. Checked the camber and there is nothing I can adjust to get any more room. Either the STRC hubs are shifted inward too far or the front universal shaft is too long.

Anyone else have this issue?

Here are a couple pictures that dont help, but they look pretty!

Thank
Red

Do you have the rubber stoppers in the diff outputs?

Nope, it's metal to metal, all the clearance it can have and it still binds. Even when i turn the wheels, I hear the universals popping because there is pressure on the at ride height.

Curiosity got the best of me and I went out to install the stock hubs....exact same issue. So at this point, it's either universals are too long or the A-arms are too short - LOL.

I have found another thread dedicated to this issue and will continue to update there.

When I built my kit, mine bound up when the suspension was compressed even just a little but it was in the outers. I pulled the hub off started playing with the CV and noticed that when the CV was at a certain angle the crosspin was sticking out a good bit. I tried punching it in the rest of the way until it was flush but I couldn't get it. I ended up just grinding the pin down until it was almost flush and put it all back together. It no longer binds.

I assume you're referencing the pin on the joint side not the diff side - correct?

Correct. Otherwise the Yeti would be rear wheel drive only before long. lol

This may not help your problem but I'm just throwing it out there.
