Default Mamba monster motor in Yeti?

I might be trading an scx10 roller for a mamba max pro and mamba monster 2200kv motor for my yeti kit. Will I need to do major cutting on the battery tray for it to fit? And possibly if this trade seems for or not. Thanks guys!

Here is a video of someone who has already installed one....simple "Google search" pulled it up.....

I wouldn't recommend using that motor/esc in a Yeti 380. The motor will work on 3s but is intended for 4-6s applications. The other consideration - thats just too much power.

The only thing is that is no the mamba monster motor. That motor is smaller but has the same internals. The can is a different size. I saw the video but knew the mamba is a different size. What you said about the motor being just too much power is relevant as well, I'm gonna back out of the deal and see if I can something sensored instead.

You got my exact point - the video has modifications uses a SMALLER motor - anything larger would require...more...nevermind - LOL

if your going to do a 1/8th scale motor try something like this (i run this on 4s or 3s and its just what the doctor ordered )

it still fits and has lots of power. its a 4268 2100kv CAN... from turnigy track star works great even handles 6s perfect (have one on a 801xt on 6s) MM2 is just too much power and too much modding that doesnt need to be done.

How does it go and what gearing are you running? I just bought a 2250kv motor for a Yeti 380 kit. I hope it will work. Cheers

Gearing I used 16t but I might go to 18t for better speeds. It does about 30 ish right now but the torque is just night and day compared to the old system lol

Dammit, I have a Yeti 1/10 scale. I don't think my 2250kv motor will work.
