Default BEC | Castle Creations CC Bec 10A 6S Switching Regulator

Hi all,
I know that is many threads on the BEC's.
But I can find any correct feedback on the Castle Creations CC Bec 10A 6S Switching Regulator.

Seems nice for the yeti, and also easy program with the usb castle connector.

What do you think ?

thanks
LV

This is the standard BEC most people use I think.
I have three. All work great.

Yep, pretty much the standard. Run one in my Yeti. Fit it in the box meant for the 2-speed servo and program it with the same Castle setup I use for the ESC.

What is the advantage of using external BEC? Will it improve thermal shut down problem?

Thermal shutdown is a gearing issue. You could also be experiencing "brown outs" due to not having a BEC in place to supply your servo with the power it requires. The brown out occurs when you over amp the RX causing it to shut down as if the car were in Thermal shut down.

What servo are you running and what are the specs on it?

i m using Blue Bird BMS-660DMG+HS Super Strong Digital Servo (MG) for my Yeti, spec: Torque At 6.0V: 14.2kg/cm , 190 oz/in
Speed At 6.0V: 0.17 sec / 60° at no load
Operating voltage: 4.8 - 6.0V.

Do i need external BEC?

I run a bec in all of my models. Do you check your temps of the motor and esc when you run? They need to be less then 160. If your above 160 you need to drop your pinion size 2 to 3 teeth. Are you running 2s or 32?
