Question Currie centered axle

I really want a Currie centered axle for my Yeti, but I know from owning a wraith and knowing the bearing issue, I am hesitant to buy it. I know they came out with the V2 but I want the Currie for the scale looks. Does anybody own a Currie Centered axle that could tell me if there is enough material so that it could be machined out to fit a larger bearing? My bud works at a machine shop.

Also upon reading, people that have installed the currie centered axle in there yeti say its bullet proof, does it already use a larger bearing than the ar60?

I'm not sure on the Currie but another awesome option for a rear axle is the SSD. It uses 5x13 bearings on both sides of the pinion for a lot more durability over the stock setup.

They just came out with a wide version for the Yeti that makes the rear the same width as the front so you can run the same offset wheels all around. I'm a little partial to this one since I ordered one yesterday.

I run a centered currie with a thrust bearing on the inner pinion with zero issues, zero slop and super smooth action.
