Default Vanquish Products locker for the front diff?

Just a quick question before I run down to my LHS and buy this thing. Will the VP locker work in the front diff with the stock outdrives? Or should I just order the Axial one that's meant for it?

I don't know if this helps but I'm running stock outdrive that came with my jk with the vanquish locker no problems. After market curry axles of course so I could tighten the little set screws on the axles.
Hopefully this makes sense.

I'm going preface this by saying "I don't have a yeti" but looking in the manual I doubt the ends of the front outdrives are long enough to reliably be gripped by the grub screws.
If you do give it a try you'll probably have to do like with an ax/scx housing & add a least 1 if not 2 access holes through the bulkhead case to be able to access the grub screws. You'll need to have the case closed but be able to get to the screws to get the outdrives centred.
Sounding like too much of a pain yet?

Do you really need to lock the front end?
Have you considered either ½ or 1mill weight (or heavier) diff gel in it.

No it wont work. the ends of the outputs barley pass the end of the ring gear and the diff cup on the other side.

I'm running 2.5 million weight and think it's the best combo. It's still drives like its locked but has give if you bind it up or run into something.
