Meant to say 4300, not 4600.

Stiffer springs should help. Keep an eye on those stock rear shocks. Mine were the leakiest shocks I've ever dealt with. I went to the proline XT's they've been solid

I'm thinking about it! But not sure if I want to keep that motor if I go 3s. I could always go 3s and gear down, though. I'm definitely considering it though. I want this thing to hit 40 mph easy. I mainly run it on dirt flats, don't do a whole lot of big jumps or anything. Love watching it go over rough terrain, suspension soaks it all up. -Corrupt |

good lord 40 is FAST. if mine hit 30 I'd be surprised (stock axial vanguard esc/motor on 3S). and even then its quite a handful. I put proline XT on mine with 40wt front, 30wt rear and the front bottoms out on pretty much everything. I need to order stiffer springs up front and try 50wt. rear is perfect right now though. |

Agreed, but I want that kind of top-end. My Yeti never sees technical stuff. I love running it flat out, as the thing I have it designed to do is to handle and look like a Class 1 off-road buggy. I love how it looks, handles, and everything. Just want to get more speed. I'm wondering if the overdrive diff gears would make any difference. -Corrupt |

So I ended up with 1/8 scale shocks on the rear. It's so much better than before, can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. I used rc8t3 rear shocks.

That sounds like a good idea. Are they the right length? -Corrupt |

Tested the truck yesterday and absolutely no improvement. Is it possible that the Yeti has to much downward travel in front suspension? Is that what limiting straps are for?

Limit straps are to keep the shocks from over extending. Try an increased spring rate for the front and/or less dampening then the opposite in the rear with softer springs and more dampening.

[QUOTE=Brake Weight;5736993]Limit straps are to keep the shocks from over extending. Oh ok makes sense. I'm almost convinced that the rear end has to much suspension travel and I think that helps to kick the rear end up when leaving jumps, also last time I took it out I broke 2 axle cases hahah so I'm gonna order steel beef tubes to add weight and strength and maybe some beef patties for more weight and try to run a spare tire to keep the rear down while in flight. |

Just keep in mind that more weight means heavier landings too. Definitely want too beef up the rear axle with tubes or an aluminum housing. I've had good luck with the VP V2 housing and it's decently priced.

I was gonna go that route but I think that the beef tubes would be heavier and I can afford harder landings in the rear because I'm using 1/8 scale truggy shocks.

I've ran with a spare tire strapped on the back; some with weights inside even, this just adds to the higher COG, and I ended up rolling over more often. Of course, If you are running a U4 event, some places implement running a spare tire is a must .

i added the limiting straps to keep the "kick" down. its heavy no matter what. the best fix is in the suspension. i wouldnt add weight. it is going to put more strain on the drive train and suspension. i run heavy stuff too VP methods, SSD wide rear axle, VP trailing Arms, anti-rock and 1/4" stainless links. plus all the plastic mounting points i have put in STRC aluminum for strength. i run slash rear shocks up front and the XL's in the back. one of the other factors is driving style too. but thats my 2 cents. good luck |
