I have a pair coming and can't wait!! Thanks Rick!! You are awesome!! I feel special to get ones with set screws. I honestly don't care how they look inside my rigs because no one will see them. I just want the extra security!!

If it is like the VP ones then no! Try it and see how the meshing is. Most after market lockers don't use the gaskets....or am I wrong? |

Hello, I have been looking around RCC to find a new locker/spool (however you prefer to call them). I previously tried to install Hot racing lockers, but upon installation in my SCX10 (with OD and normal gear ratio HD gear), I noticed that the gear mesh between the pinion and the ring gear was just horrible (gritty). To find out if the lockers where the problem, I pulled out my trusty electronic calipers. What I have found is pretty disturbing, from the highest point of the locker to the highest part of the ring gear, without bearings installed (From the tip of where both bearings are supposed to be installed), the stock setup (stock lockers, stock ring gear) measured 24.76mm, so this was now my baseline measure. So I then measured the Hot racing locker with the overdrive gear, 24.48mm!!!! The dimensions were so off that I could move the ring gear left and right in the bearing slot! No wonder my gear mesh was off. To further my testing, I measured Hot racing locker with stock gears, 24.46mm, same problem as before. So in the meantime, I am running the stock lockers with overdrive gears in front and stock ratio HD in the back, those measure 24.81mm which is a very nice fit in the AX10 axles. Could you measure one of your lockers and gear assembly just so I can be sure that I don’t run in the same problem as with the Hot racing lockers? If they are the right dimensions, I would like to get a set of your lockers, not sure if I would go with the Grip-Lok lockers or the GripFab V3 lockers. Thanks in advance |

24.86mm I try to hold 19mm overall length of the locker/spool from the end to the mounting surface where it meets the ring gear. I try to keep tolerances tight and I can check parts often being a small shop. I deal in small quantities and I look over the parts carefully before sending them out. |

Wow, I’m very impressed , you sure do respond quick. I thought about getting the V3 from supershafty but they are not in stock anymore (Maybe I’ll just wait until they get back in stock). But as a complete noob I was wondering how to pay the vendors on RCC?

You don't lock the axles like in the Vanquish locker? Do the axles just float? I'd like a set of these.

Right, the axle shafts slip in snug. No set screws on these. I tried it but, didn't like how they looked so, I ended up not doing them. Zippo got my only test set.
