Re: SF south bay crawl spots

Re: SF south bay crawl spots

What is considered comp style and scale style? I would say it's more comp style. I have a few pics on my phone. Not sure how to post them up though. I am pretty new to the whole comp scene. I have had a LCC for about 2 1/2 years now. I bought the XR10 right when it came out. But due to my son being born was unable to actually finish the assembly until last month. I also have a small comp course i have built in my back yard. If some one is willing to post the pics. I am willing to send them. I plan on expanding my personal course some more this summer. Making it go around the border of the back yard.

Make a photbucket account at Photobucket.com
load your pictures up
click on a picture ....pull down menu appears. Choose the IMG code
this copies your picture and paste it in the body of this mesage forum...
pretty simple once you get the hang of it...

HOW TO FIND: park on the street and hike up the trail. Few little spots there, but if you make a right at the canal trail, you will find the main spots.

CLASS: scale and comp.

I have a scaler that right now just needs to have the electronics put back in. Started life as a Honcho, but is far from that now. Willing to sell it without the radio and receiver.

Honcho frame
VP dig
Holmes 10T puller motor
Holmes waterproof BRXL
All robinson racing gears in trans
2.2 Swampers
Traxxas big bore shocks
Bronco body
RCBros 3link kit
Super 300 axles
3racing alum housings front and rear
HS-7950TH servo

And a bunch of other top of the line stuff. Let me know if your interested and we can work out a price.

I ended up going to Linda Vista Park and Danna Rock Park.
I ran out of daylight before hitting Mini Hammers.

If any of you are ever up to Santa Rosa be sure to make a stop at Flat Rock. It is such a good spot many local scaler club members meet there weekly.
I'll post a link with the coordinates here in a bit.

Great descriptions, link locations, pictures.
Stevens creek is endless rocks,
Like to add Serra Park in here, it has close parking, its clean, restrooms, water, shade, lots of picnic benches. good for scalers. 2.2's even some moa.

Anyone in area up for crawling soon?
can keep our distance during this corona pandemic

getting my crawler working

Uh.... Apparently I forgot?

The Sonoma County Scalers hold a big get together the second Sunday of every month rain or shine.
All rigs, capabilities, & ages welcome.

Here's the coordinates:

(Or look at Flat Rock Circle, Santa Rosa CA on a sat map. You'll see it.)

Check out Sonoma County Scalers on FB for more info.

I am surprised I didn't see Castle Rock Park in Los Gatos, on Skyline. When I have a MOA this is where I will head. It is a popular rock climbing area.
Drones and other aircraft are banned. Before heading into a park I email the head ranger and ask them. Usually the response is don't impede people, don't bother wildlife, don't trample vegetation, and they encourage a yearly permit to remove any hassles on either side.
