Default Bean Hollow Part 2 - 19 Mar 06

Well it was such a great time last weekend that we have to do it all over again, this time without the Mog breaking down. Ok Nor-Cal bruthas, it's time to hit the "near" Bean Hollow local again. For those that didn't catch Dean's detailed directions, we will be heading to a spot just north of Bean Hollow park itself this Sunday the 19th.

Now I have to end my day early because I have to help get my wife's studio open for business, so I will get there early. Anyone interested in an early crawl start? I want to leave my house around 7AM again and get in as much time possible. There are just too many lines out there that have Slinky's name on it.

If anything, I will catch you guys when you get there.

I am up in the air on this one. I have a lot of building to do so if I get enough done between now and Sunday they hopefully.

I will drive the Honda out so I can jam there and back in a hurry if I can't spend the whole day.

Kick_Back - That sucks. I was hoping you could go so we could hear your rig idling while waiting for your turn. We were laughing (and crying) at how your servo lasted the whole time despite being all audibly f'd up.

Bernie - Ok sounds good. I should probably get my rig ready and charged before then eh? See you here.

Sorry guys I am not going crawling tomorrow. I got the Mog running today and ended up ****ing around with it all day and did not get the things I needed to get done like work on the Scout. So tomorrow I am going to do some work on the Scout and do the rc crawler building I need to do.

I need to be put on restriction from the Mog so I can get some **** done around here.

Have fun, and remember that if you can't make it up an obsticle, if I were there I would be able to.

I bought the video off the Home Shopping Network. I sitll have one more payment left. I also got some Ginsu knives and GLH#9 when I called within 10 minutes of the showing. I have to keep painting my hair so it looks good you know.

Sucks you won't be there. I think you can break away for a short period of time, but if you are afraid of being followed by the Asian driver and getting rear ended, I understand.

I had fun out there. This place rocks. I think I have finally got my rig set-up, I just have a few things to take care of. I have learned that my front servo hates my drag link. I started with a locknut, lost it, locktighted the next nut lost it, CA glued the next and broke the 4-40 screw. I went and bought another new servo tonight so I can have rear steer again. It held me up a little today having front steer only. See you guys next week.

Thanks Todd, Bernie, and Chino for a great day of wheeling. The weather sucked again with clear sunny skies.

We just got back from Bean Hollow a little bit ago. Here are the photos:
http://www.nor-calrcrc.com/modules.p...view_album.php

Some of the damage and statistics for the day:
2 rear ring and pinions within 15 minutes of each other (Chino)
1 servo or at least control to it (bernie)
1 axle ear (Chino)
1 rim (bernie)
1 king pin (Chino - but it was found)
Some nut thing on bernie's rig
1 stripped servo arm (Chino)
Something on Todd's rig (I forgot already)
1 Jeep Grill (Sam - almost ripped off)

We burned through I believe battery 14 packs today amongst the 4 of us.

All in all a great day. I can't wait until the comp next weekend.

-Sam

Depending on how wet the rocks are and which type of rocks you are on, you can go from slippery go nowhere no matter how much throttle you give snot rocks, to super traction (more than I have seen anywhere else). We have picked an area that is high up and will not be hampered even during high tide. The courses will be very sticky unless it rains some. Then a few spots might get a little slick.

You are right. The place is sick sicj. We spent 9 hours crawling there today and were disappointed that we had to leave so soon. We never really hit the same place twice and we almost made it down to Bean Hollow beach itself which is quite a ways.
