Had a blast today guys glad to make it out crawling again its been a while for me and my boys. Wish we could of stayed but in the rush this morning we forgot the ice chest and had no water or lunch when we returned to the truck so had to split.

Such an amazing day. I normally like to do a trail write up after but today would be a novel. Today was epic. It was awesome to finally put some faces to names, see everyone's rigs. Weather was perfect!!! There was some carnage for sure but not too bad for the size of the group. Between Asian Johns rig needing something every 10 minutes and having to spot my son with his wraith. We were stuck in the back playing catch up all day. Still a blast though. We are going to be out the scene till May but I really want to check out MDR. Again nice meeting all of you and can't wait to do it again!! |

On another note, for those that didn't know. Someone all the way from SD drove out to Vasquez to crawl with us. I only found out because they left note on my truck... I know its not anyone's fault but I felt really bad leaving a fellow hanging. Let's do a phone number exchange amongst each other so we dont leave any one out.... Just an idea. He went back when everyone else had left Danny asked if he wanted to join us to crawl a bit but he needed to head back to sd said he got held back due to a accident in the freeway I think

All was not lost. My wife and I hiked and crawled the Jeep to the top of all of the highest points around looking for the group. Got a lot of crawling in. The weather was perfect, the dirt was just right, the rocks were nice and clean, etc. We left and went up to the new interpretive center building at the entrance for a while. Got a frig magnet souvenir and then went back to the parking lot to see if the group had shown up yet. Some of the guys were there and we talked for a while. All in all a good day. Nice weather, nice people, etc. We left Vasquez and went to China Town to eat. Went and rode the train in Griffith Park that my wife used to ride as a kid. We then went up to the Griffith Park Observatory until 10 P.M. and then went home. A very nice trip.  When is the next Vasquez GTG? | ||

Deynon- I also can't go this Sunday, going to Vegas. Pick another weekend and I will drive down if I can. CrawlSD- we crawl every few weeks in Vasquez. Keep an eye for another weekend to gtg. Sorry I didn't get to meet you I will throw out first Sunday in may. So may 4th for another get together. Who can/wants to make that day? Jon |
