| Harley's Axial Comp Chassis - "Hybrid" Harley Designs Presents The "Hybrid" Comp Chassis Designed for the AX-10 using a DNA Dig unit. I am offering a limited run of my Axial specific comp chassis. This chassis was modeled for tight tolerances and top performance. This chassis was designed specifically to use an Axial transmission WITHOUT a slipper and also requires the use of the DNA dig unit. This setup is not for everyone, but I didn't design this for everyone. I designed it for the setup that I feel is the best. The recommend shocks are either Traxxas Big Bore or Losi Crawler Shocks. The chassis is CNC milled from1/8" 6061 aluminum and the cross braces are also CNC milled from 1/4" Delrin. The bottom of the skid has two milled slots to recess the transmission mounting bolts and to help channelize the rig in a forward motion along the rocks in the case that rock were to leverage the wheels off the ground. The holes drilled and tapped in the side go into this channel as well but will not effect performance. I have ran this rig the entire season here at KCRC, yielding me the second spot, qualifying myself for the 2008 Nationals You will notice that I have designed a Side Skid that allows for a narrow chassis but give protection for the motor. This will guide objects that would otherwise catch the motor plate, away from the chassis so you can continue on snag free. The chassis uses stock length upper Axial links but requires shorter lower links; this design was to gain more equal length links. The suspension was modeled several different ways and the final result is a nice low roll center with low amounts of axle steer. This video show the axles roll center: Tight tollerances for sure This years test bed: Action shots: Don't like, don't buy it - How do you like that for a marketing strategy But if you would like a shot at one send me a PM or Email. First come first serve, unless I don't like you Like I said these are limited and will likely not be produced again. Price is $74.99 shipped to the lower 48 Last edited by Harley; 08-21-2008 at 11:32 AM. |

Here you go Harley. Im very glad I got the opportunity to pick this thing up from Neal. It sticks to the rocks like glue! Just an FYI, I had to trim the side plate very little and swap the delrin cross pieces for small diameter brass tube to clear my slipper. Thanks again for the teriffic design. It's very tight, but thats how I like it... Giggity |

It has been almost a year since you first came up with this chassis. It is nice to see you are finally bringing it to the public. Keep up the good work. Maybee I'll get to see this rig again at Crawlapalooza.

Killer chassis Harley! I've had a chance to play with one myself and it definitely makes a very capable rig! Good luck on the sale. Don |
