Default GCM 4TEN Leaf-Spring Scale Truck Chassis

Official Product release.

RockPile Article in November RCCA did a review on this chassis shown here on page 113 and 114.

There comes a time in the life of every scale builder when they want to move to the next level. Where the GCM CrossCanyon chassis is primarily designed for Coil over spring setups, the all new GCM 4TEN chassis is a leaf spring designed chassis with loads of setup options ready for your detailed build.

Please see the Product info video below for an overview and a rundown of our 10 inch Jeep TJ setup.

>>4TEN Product Overview Video Link<<

The new 4TEN chassis design adopts some of the proven chassis and balance geometry used in our GCM CrossCanyon Scaler Conversion kits, and allows the use of the Axial center transmission mounted up front where it belongs. This, along with the front mounted motor and frame mounted front steering servo, allow for a proper weight balance for scale trail and rock crawling as well as a low Center of Gravity. The Transfer case mounted mid-frame allows for ideal driveshaft angles as well as ample room for interior details and electrics. The all new rear shock bridge allows angle mounting of the rear shocks and keeps the crossmember down low for easy pickup box mounting or cage work. The Chassis has 3 deg of designed-in castor to correct pinion angles for the front and rear without the use of angle spring blocks. With a total frame length of 17.6 inches on the rails, the Toyota FJ users will love the long front frames for a winch mount, and the rear can be trimmed down to length any time to match the body and bumper mounts used in the build.

Please see the 4TEN Product page for more information and setup details.

Please see the assembly tech information video below for setup details and hints:

Is a upright rear shock mount option in the works?

I suppose the rear upright tower could be done. Hadn't considered that for this one, but there is a new rear shock mount that's way down low on the axle.
Thanks for the comments, all.

Don't remember if I mentioned this but the kits have options for the 3inch scale lift kit in the package. This helps setup the shorter leaf trucks and gives more mounting options for body and wheel types.
Due to the amount of inquiries we have had on this chassis, we have opened pre-ordering for the 4TEN combo and parts to ensure we can meet the demand in September and still have stock left over.

RoadKing, thanks for the question.
We have made many JK Jeeps using our CrossCanyon coil spring chassis. We have not made a JK using the 4TEN, but you CAN use the 4TEN with the long rails. Then you can get the long wheelbase you want.
4TEN combo kit goes up to 12.86 wheelbase, 4TEN long chassis 17+ inch wheelbase.

Here's a picture of the 4TEN using the 3inch lift shackles and the RC4WD axles. These little flat adapters barely seen under the springs are the Tamiya/RC4WD axle adapters. Nice easy clean fit with this axle.

Would a set of Axial shock hoops be able to bolt to the chassis?
I'm thinking for a rear stand up shock mount they might work.
I have the Vanquish mounts & it would be nice to know if they'd fit.

Either way I'm ordering one now...It's my Christmas present.
Last year was a Honcho, this year is a real chassis for it

I don't have the vanquish mounts to check, but I guess you can let us know. I'm guessing you could get it to work.

The VP mounts are the same as the stock Axial parts, just billet.
They bolt onto the chassis in the same location. So if the stock plastic shock hoops fit I'm guessing it'll work
