Default AX vs. WK?

I have both and I'm torn between buying one or the other to replace some TLT's in a 2.2 scaler. Anyone have any opinions between the two? I like that when you flip the link mounts upside down on the WK the links are much higher than on the AX and it has the maxx size driveshafts....Buuuut if there's something I don't know fill me in.

Them WK axles are pretty wide for a 2.2 scaler, don't you think? Wrecker told me today that the cases spread under heavy load and the R&P will skip, I haven't experienced this with mine though. Either way the ax-10s are much closer to the same width than the WK, so it'd be a better choice I think.

Well use the term scaler loosely. I'm gonna use rock stompers and an 80's Chevy body. It's on a scale frame with sliders and blah blah blah... it's basically like a show truck on 54's with rockwells.

No sure how the cases could spread at the ring and pinion when there are screws holding it together? And if thats the case Axial would have the same problem as they are the same design, only weaker plastic.

Ask wrecker, he told me that, and as I said, I've not experienced this problem. Perhaps a shimming issue?

Oh, I am sure he will chime in about the "superior" Axial axles.

How'd you guess? In all fairness, the axial axles are really nice.

They are really nice. But the WK mounting is really making me lean toward them. Any reason not to go with them over the AX?

Honestly, I like my WK axles an awful lot. With the VF stalkers, my width sits at about 10 1/8th, right where I like it. The scrub radius of that setup beats everything on the 2.2 field short of a clod with the same wheels. The only downside I've found is the ground clearance. Give em a try.

I've got a pair, I just need another. With the 5.5" tires, diff clearance isn't an issue...

My vote goes to wheely king. Just truss the axles so they mount up better.

Here's how I did it:

Another testament to the toughness of WK's.

He drove it off that 100+ foot cliff 3 times that I know of and all he did was pancake the body and popped some shocks apart. No broken axle parts.
