I would put my money on him being a liar looking for attention. I check out the local Salvation Armies and Goodwill frequently for RCs, and on the few occasions they actually do have them, I can guarantee that NO charitable organization sells that much RC for $9. I didn't read the thread, but you have to break it down to $3 a vehicle.....................and even if you don't know what the stuff is, anyone that works at a Goodwill knows each is worth more than $3. Then again, maybe the stars were aligned correctly for him, and he hit it big, but the money factor is set too low to be true IMO. This is the other part that points towards BS IMO: "I just aquired these 3 cars & 4 radios from Goodwill (of all places) & am so happy to be able to get back into RC after about 15 years of being out of it!" This dude posts this on 2/5/08, but he joined RCU on 9/18/06. Why has he been a member of an RC forum for nearly 1.5 years if he hasn't been into RC for the past 15 years??? If this great Goodwill deal brought him back into RC after 15 years, why did he join RCU 1.5 years ago? I gotta vote attention whore!!! |

I'm feeling the same way! Something shady about it. Looks like he is bidding on his own auction on ebay also. 7 days to go and it's bid up to $300. I"m calling B.S! | |

I know a guy that picked up Tamiya Blazin' Blazer at a goodwill for $10. I bought it from him for $60 and sold it on Ebay for $450 (score!) |

A few years ago I found a box at goodwill that had an old Hot Shot and most of a Sand Scorcher in it! Ended up rebuilding the Hot Shot and selling it. Still have the Scorcher. You never know what you'll find at those places.

That has to be the deal of the century. $9 wouldn't buy the batteries for the radios.
