| 1:1 on it's lid.
I had a question for the membership here at RCC. At a 1:1 rock crawling comp how do they handle it when a rig flips and goes on it's lid? I have noticed by observing videos of RC comps and live feeds that when a RC rig flips it's handled by the driver and repositioned on the course with just a point penalty. Never being at either one of the events, 1:1 or RC rock crawling I was just wondering if RC could replicate 1:1 rock crawling a little more in this aspect. Seems in 1:1 it would be the end of the day for most, but in RC it's just a touch penalty or reposition. I would think if it were more of a penalty that more care and skill would cause a driver to think twice about just gunning it to get past the obstacle, and in turn replacate 1:1 rock crawling better. Just food for thought. Any input here? |

If you want to set up a course on a concrete sidewalk it would not be a bad idea. The beuty of RC is that you can get away with stupid mistakes with no more than a couple point penalty. Then there is the fact that we can do lines in RC that could never be done in 1-1 which usually involves landing on your roof Last edited by slugzracing; 04-01-2008 at 07:24 PM. |

Depends on the competition really. Sometimes they are given a DNF... sometimes if they can right themselves in a certain amount of time they are not penalized, or only penalized a certain amount of points/time.

At any 1:1 comp that I know of if you don't roll out of bounds, and if the driver and spotter themselves can right the vehicle you can continue on unpenalized. If you require outside assistance to get back onto your wheels you are done for that course.
