|  Truck accident just outside my place   I heard a sequence of bangs and looked out my window and saw that. I called 999 on my way down (police, paramedics and firemen were all here in under 4 minutes, more than decent) The driver was in shock, I talked to him for 2 minutes before he turned around and replied  He had no idea if there was a pedestrian on the crossing when he plowed through it and the whole place reeked of diesel. A fireman found a shoe about 2 mins after they arrived while the others were spreading sand over the spilled diesel, but they couldn't find anyone under the truck, so I guess it was just a stray shoe. From what I read in microgoat's thread, it seems like there's some sort of law in the states that basically keeps truckers from taking short breaks? This is in London btw, but tiredness is universal... *edit* Turns out he was DUI, the *****. Last edited by Karadjas; 06-01-2008 at 08:32 PM. |

It's a crossing island, so 2 rows of metal fencing, 2 traffic light posts, 2 of those flimsy plastic light-up thingies, 1 lamppost
