Default Heat

Well, I think I did it...

Quote:
Heat exhaustion symptoms include:
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Headaches
  • Excessive thirst
  • Muscle aches and cramps
  • Weakness
  • Confusion or anxiety
  • Drenching sweats, often accompanied by cold, clammy skin.
  • Slowed or weakened heartbeat.
  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Agitation
Nailed 9 out of 12 today. I feel like my skull is going to split open and the muscle aches have me walking like an 85 year old. It only hit the lower to mid 90's today but my shop was reading over 100 by 11:30.

I guess I will be getting in earlier the next couple days so I can cut out by 2. I will be going in at 4:00 so I can get my 10 on the clock

The killer here is the humidity. So much moisture in the air that you sweat does not evaporate. Plus, big metal building between a rail yard and a creek makes for sticky air with no breeze.

I am positive that others have it worse then what I had today, but it got me. I am heading to bed to hopefully be in better shape in the morning.

Later;)

Try doing that, and pushing a 50lb lawn mower

Its been roughly in the 100's all week, today was our nicest day I would have to say, but its really humid around here, so 100 feels more like 150.

If anyone knows about HVAC theory then you would understand the wet-bulb temperatures. If the humidity reaches a given point at a certain temperature, water will not evaporate. The wet-bulb temperature has been about 78-80 degrees for the past several days here, which is dangerously high.

It plays hell with evaporative cooling systems, like us humans.

You're not hot unless sweat is rolling down the crack of your ass like the water over niagara falls.-Robin Williams
