I assume you're looking into a gas pistol? HFC and KJW make a variety of models with good fps and clip size, Tokyo Marui also.

if your looking to buy an aeg. i suggest classic army. just make sure its the regular model and not the sport model. classic army aegs have reinforced gearboxes high quality internals (hd gear set, metal bushings, bering spring rod, hd tappet plate, and much more) and an aluminum reciver. w/ the quality internals you can simply drop in a m140 sping ($5) and easily get 450-480 fps. it takes very little to upgrade their aeg's as for a gbb pistol i really like wei-tech aka PHX full aluminum slide and frame, heavy weight, easily adjustable trigger pull and usually has upgraded hammer springs and high flow valves in their mags. they can easily take red gas and propane out of the box w/ no upgrades. not only that but they tend to cost less than other brands out on the market. as for a online distributer. i really like wgcshop.com. amazing customer service |

I wouldn't buy one the the classic armies right now unless you want to do some internal work. The gears in them have suffered in quality since the price drop. Also putting a 140 spring in most guns out of the box won't work to well with out a set of torque up gears. The only gun i have done that to is the ics m4's which took my 150 with no problem. Also i believe he was looking at pistols not aeg's. Right now my two favorite pistols are both kjw. One of the g23 and one the m92's. I like them better than than the kwa and the WE tech. The WE-tech guns tend to be leaky and eat gas. They're not as efficient as alot of the other guns. To pick which pistol you want i'd first find a model i like in the real gun then find out who makes it and then stick with mainstream brands you do that and you'll be fine. Almost all pistols shoot around 300 fps with .2's with the exception of a few really high end brands like Western Arms.

as w/ any hobby you get what you pay for as with wei-tech the reason they eat up gas is because of the full metal slide hi flow valves and stronger hammer spring. all these parts definatly make u use more gas. you have to be willing to spend a little more money on gas if you want your gbb to perform better. and w/ the fact that w.t. can take propane out of the box you actually end up spending less in the long run. on my hi capa i get a consistant 370-380 fps in the winter months not only that you have to remember they are hi capacity magazines, 31 rounds plus 1 in the chamber over the standard 18-21 for other gbb's. also if you were to get the after market parts on ur own you're lookin at : metal slide +$100 high flow valve +$20 upgraded hammer spring +18 initial purchase of gbb $80 to $125 wei-tech's are usually under $100 | |
