Default My old Willys

Man, I miss this thing. Was rummaging through the image folder and found these old pictures of pictures. The original shots were taken in 97-98. We were out on the trails in Hawaii and found an abandoned car. Everyone else drove around it. That's as far as I went 'cause the passenger's front tire was on the driver's side door - not the roof of the car.

These last two shots are before I spray-bombed the blue on and put on the 33x12.50s. It had 31x13.50s.

'50 CJ3A w/M38 windshield

360hp/425ft./lb 355ci (350 .030 over)
TH-350/Dana 300 w/Currie twin sticks
Dana 44 rear/Dana 30 up front
Detroits and 4.56 gears
2in suspension lift
1in body lift
33x12.50 TSLs
Junkyard seats

The gun photo was just a shot I'd cut out of a bunch of old 4WD mags. I think that image was of a resto M38 with guys in period correct gear.

I had a stack of mags from back then and decided to cut out a bunch of the old flatties and stick'm on a board to hang in the garage.

That board is long gone.

I ended up trading the Willys for a '68 GTX with the factory high-output 440 and 4-speed.

Then I got an assignment for Korea...and sold the GTX.

Man, you had to post that didn't you? I had a 49' Willys wagon I got for $350 I was going to restore. Ended up selling it before I really got started due to moving.

damn i love those old flatties. my grandpa had one with the flat head 4cyl in it. i remember every time it rained or we drove through water the little pockets around the spark plugs would fill with water and it would cut out. fun little truck. my old neighbors had one that had bullet holes in it from the war lol!
