Default My new Motorcycle

My dads had this motorcycle sitting in his backyard for a few years. I kept bugging him to give it to me but he never would, finally lastweek he said he was cleaning up, and if I wanted it I had better come get it.

When i got it the motor was locked up solid but after a full days work I had it running and riding. Once I knew it'd run I decided to start stripping it down to build it how I wanted.

Here is pretty much what it looked like when I got it, including the sweet luggage rack that went right into the trash.

And here is how it looks as of today. Today I spent most of the day working on the frame work for the cafe racer type solo seat I am building. I hope to get all the fiberglass done on the seat this week. Then it's off to the Carnage Crew Garage to have some new handlebars built for it, and to make the rear into a hardtail.

I've got a old Honda like that laying around in the yard, I think it's bigger though, a Yamerhamer too.

Did it really take that little bike to make you look like a monkey fawking a football?

Nice pull BTW!! I got a Virago 750 that has been sitting in the backyard for a few years now..............and it sure as hell wouldn't like that nice a couple of days after being pulled out!!

Does she run? What is needed to get riding? And I would keep her just as she is cosmetically! Not sure what it is, but she has a nice stock look about her.

Rode it a little bit the other day. Front brake cable is locked up so there is no front brake, but other than that it rode fine.

I am gonna put a huge front disc on it from a Ducati, including the caliper and the master cylinder. I HAVE to have a good front brake.

The gas tank is also full of varnish and crud so I need to get that cleaned out as well.

Looks good! If you need any parts check out www.bikebandit.com when I got my first bike(1982 Honda Z50) My father and I got all the restoration parts through them, as well as the factory decals.

Here is the link for your bike, if it is a '75.

Wrapping the pipes on that 200 should give you another 3-5HP. Also on the carbs, swirl the intake and it will add a few more HP as well. And at your size I would go down a tooth on the front and up 2 in the rear. This will sound crazy but we used to do it racing in the ProStar series, pull your pistons, take a deep pan and drop them in with Prolong, let them soak for about an hour, then pull them, bake them at 475-500 for a hour, take them out and drop them back in the Prolong then pull them and let them sit till thay cool. You will see a drastic improvement in power! It will almost feel like a turbo

Stock she only made 17hp so any increase is good.

Yea just the little bit I rode it the other day I could tell it needed to be geared down. 1 in the front and 2 in the rear sounds like a bunch though?
