Just wanted to say thank you to all of the men and women in service of our great nation, both past and present.

The sacrifices of you and your families is greatly appreciated.

It may be just me, but that comment just seems disrespectful. Our armed forces don't lay their lives on the line and go into harm's way just so you can have a long weekend. There's a lot more to it than that.

And I thought you Canadians were better at respecting and honoring your armed forces than we are here in the U.S.A.

I guess some folks just naturally lean to the left no matter where they live.

Thank you and God bless you to all our veterans past and present...

Just ignore him.

He is just a punk ass kid w/ a bad attitude. He has no true understanding of the impact the sacrifices our veterans have had on his life, much less his ability to post stupid crap on the Internet.

You take the cake man Is there any country that you are ok with? You ALWAYS have something negative to say about America? Soldiers have died for every country, not just ours. If they had not died we would not be or have what we do now? So because we as "America" have "Diplomacy" no man should ever loose a life in war or a conflict? And when they fight so you can be a prick and type on your couch everyday it's not ok, but when they die defending and protecting YOU then you feel for them, but not before? This day is not about "Why" or "How" but the SOLDIERS, living and dead! I hope we meet someday....

I never served, but wanted to say thank you to all that have and are active now. Soldiers like you and your predecessors are the reason this country is free. For the non military such as myself that read this thread please remember, freedom isn't free! the least you can do is say thank you.

-My two great uncles who died in service during WWII
-My dad who served in Vietnam and in the Gulf War as a reservist
-All the other brave people who have fought, served, and are serving this great country.

Thank you all.

Feel ashamed for what my family has done, I think not....policies aside, you should feel ashamed for not respecting the sacrifices people have made.

I wish no one had to kill or be killed in the name of a country either, but unfortunately that's not how our world works. There are people on this planet that would kill you for no other reason than the country you live in. The only thing stopping them is the sacrifice of veterans the world over.

I want to thank all my fellow Vets....past, present and future....for everything you've done, and everything you've sacrificed to help keep us, and Mr. Slave free.

Now there's some irony.

The above is a project me and my boy did as family project for his 2nd grade class. He picked, I drew, he colored. There are names on the drawing under the eagle, but at the request of some family the names have been removed for the public forum. It listed 4 names (small fraction of family that has served and serving) at the bottom. 2 Korea vets, 1 made it, 1 MIA. 1 Vietnam vet, made it. 1 Iraq vet, KIA.

Currently have several family, friends, and co-workers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, some of which are in their 4th tour.
