Default Sanding aluminum?

I hacked up my stock TLT-1 plates and need to do a little sanding. What kind of sandpaper do I need?

I'd use wet-or-dry type.

You just want to knock down scratches on the bottom or something?

I'd say get some 240, then smooth'r out with 320

I need to smooth out the area where I cut the bottom off. I was also considering sanding the sides of the chassis because I scratched them up a bit when I was cutting them. Plus I could polish them since that coating/film would be removed.

Depending on how bad its gouged you may want to file it first(Files only work FORWARD!, I want to punch people in the back of the head every time I see them do the back and forth crap like its sand paper) then go after it with some 220-240.

I bent the plates when I was cutting them, but I hammered them back. There's a couple dings and scuffs that I didn't sand out, but I'm not worried about it. It's plenty shiny for me now. It took a while, though. I'm only doing the outsides. I'll do the other plate tonight or tommorow. This picture really doesn't do it justice, but I didn't feel like screwing around with the camera to get it perfect. The plate on the bottom hasn't been sanded.
