| Ice storm victims?
Anybody else here get hammered by the ice storm? I just got power restored after 4 days of no lights/no heat. Spent the past 3 days chopping and cutting fallen tree's (by hand!) for a fire I built in the driveway to keep everyone warm. Hope everyone else here is ok! |

We had no electric for 4 hours also on teusday, we had a little bit of trees down, mostly dead ones and pines. Cutting tree's by hand isnt that bad. |

We also got hit here in OKC. We were without power for a couple hours due to some jerk off sliding on the ice into a power pole. The ice finally melted outside as of today..

| It is when you aren't used to doing it, your saw is small, and your axe is dull with no real way to sharpen it. My shoulders and arms are wiped out from swinging that damn thing. I was actually doing alright untill I decided to tackle a big chunk of oak. That's a bitch to cut through compared to the cedar I was grabbing. Its crazy how many trees are down or bent over here. I made a slippery trip to the store on Wed and it looked like the Jolly Green Giant had been out stomping around. I had read in the paper today that there are still tons of people in rural areas that haven't yet been accounted for because there is no way to contact or physically reach them. Officials are estimating 4-6 weeks before power is 100% restored to the state. People stood in line at Home Depot yesterday for 9 hours in hopes of leaving with a generator. |

| lol...I realized that out this morning. I also kicked myself for spending lots of time and energy with hunting down dry kindling and paper to restart my fire when I've got a perfectly good MAPP gas torch sitting on the workbench. Click, hiss, poof, fire. Done. My boy scout training is rustier than I thought... |
