Default It's not a crawler, but here is my new 1:1 project

Been working on this off and on for a while, finally got it out of my moms garage so I can actually get some progress made on it. She's only been harping on me for six months to get it to my house. Just to let you know, the wife chose the color. Since she is head of the finance department, she gets what she wants!

Default This is a crawler

This is a crawler, or at least the start to my new personal one. I actually started the frame about 9 mo. ago, and worked two nights after my day job. Then I had a kid and took 9 mo. off. Just started back on it and got another couple nights after work so far. Lots of sleepless nights to come. I really dig the Baja rigs, that's were the crawler buggies like mine got started. Without guys like you building desert buggies, crawler buggies wouldn't be were they are today. TheClodKing, nice job on your rig, it looks good.

Kit chassis or your own design? Looking good. What are you planning for the bug motor? One cool little project clodking.

I'm building it as a 2-1600 short-course racer. It will have a built to spec 1600 vw engine. The chassis is definitely not a kit! Started out with a pile of tubing and wound up with this. Not to bad for my first ever.

Doing it from scatch and not a kit is so much better. Then it is truely yours, a one of a kind rig. Nice looking job, keep us updated on the project.
