| looking for a 1:1 project
Okay, this is the story. My wife and I are building a house. She wanted an open floor plan, main floor laundry and master suite, kids rooms upstairs, 2 sided fireplace, big kitchen (even though she doesn't cook), etc... Me on the other hand only had a couple of things. 1. Had to be able to park my truck in the garage. It doesn't fit at our house now. 2. At least 3 car garage. I ended up with a 3 1/2. The third car bay is deep. 3. The garage had to be on the other end of the house compared to the master bedroom. So I can make noise lat at night and not wake her up. Well, we both got what we wanted, now I am thinking of getting a 1:1 project going after we move in. I am looking for something fairly easy to work on (have not wrenched on a 1:1 in 11 years) and isn't going to break the bank. Any ideas would be great. Here is a link to the house. If you look at the garage add a third car on the right side that goes from the roof line of the covered porch, to about half way into the kitchen. http://www.rogersnewhomes.com/floorp...d=35&sqft=1877 To show you some scale, here is a pic I took today. That is my 3/4 ton Dodge sitting in the third car bay. The front bumper is 1 foot from the front door and the rear bumber is 8 feet from the door on the back of the garage. I am open to any input. Thanks Last edited by RD400; 10-19-2005 at 10:53 PM. |

get a Suburban frame, lift the hell out of it, 44 inch boggers, etc. then get yerself a nice late-60s, early-70s Caddy hearse (Superior made the best ones, and all were built on GM truck chassis) and drop it on there. then put the brass pole and disco lights in there |

get an 85+ toyota truck or 4runner....you can build a toyota for cheap and it take you anywhere you want to go... if you take the family wheeling, then go for the 4runner... or build an old muscle car- camaro, GTO, roadrunner, charger, etc.etc BTW(off topic)- on your back fence,is there a certain type of name for that kind of fence? That is the kind i want, but all the privacy fences around here are the basic " Stockade" type or the ones that have a piece on each side that criss cross... then i have seen them where they are like a U instead of how yours is opposite... | |

Twisted...that's a convex solid design. The "U" shape you're talking about is called a concave solid. |
