Default 1:1 jeep cherokee bumper

Im in the process of starting a small fab shop out of my garage. And the first customer build is for a neighbor. He wanted something that had a good approach angle and a grill guard. So after much though I came up with this, Its all made of 1/4 inch plate and 3/16 tubing, the weight came out to be around 100lbs. Just thought I would share it with you guys.

Started with a posterboard pattern .

So I built each side wing then added the center section.

and this shot shows the frame mounts and how far back they go.

And that killer approach angle

And then the tubing.

Heres what it looked like on the jeep

Its not finished I still have to add 2 more down tubes to the grill guard, But you get the idea.

Is the owner a wheeler or is this a mall crawler? The fab work is incredible!

Nice job. I know from experience that building your own faceted bumper like that is a bit of work...having built mine for my XJ.

No doubt! I have a good bit of time in it, but the effort was well worth it in the end. I plan to make a plate steel front for my Tj next.
